Happy New Year Plans at Harbor House

Good News! We're open again! Yay!

After "a long winter's nap" (ha) we are back at it in more ways than you can imagine. Oh wait, you're writers, you can imagine a lot. "I will explain, no there is too much, I will sum up." (Look at that both a book and movie quote in the first paragraph.)

WINTER HOURS: 9 a.m. to Noon, weekdays.

"The Art and Science of StorySELLing" with best-selling author and award-winning international speaker Gideon F. For-mukwai, 1-3 p.m., Saturday, January 7, $32. Advance Registration Required. All registrants get a FREE Harbor House mug.

Winter SALON Reading, 7-8:30 p.m., Saturday, January 14, FREE and Open to the Public. All authors, writers and poets are welcome to read a portion of their work (please sign up in advance). Light refreshments will be served.

Inaugural Harbor House WRITERS' FELLOWSHIP Meeting, 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 16. All writers are welcome. The new group will meet every third Monday of each month.

"Writing the Mountain Man" with author and Renaissance Man Andy R. Bunch, 1-3 p.m., Saturday, January 21, $32. Advance registration required.

"Five Secrets to Writing Successful College Papers" with Greg and Ruth Zschomler, MFA, 10-11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 4, $10.

One-Day MEMOIR WORKSHOP with Ruth Zschomler, MFA, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, February 25, $50. Advance registration required. Lunch included.

We plan to offer a day-long March Marketing Seminar. We'll post details when we have them finalized. We're pretty pumped about this because we believe we have just the right teacher lined-up to bring you all the answers you've been asking for. Probably March 18, so reserve the date.

We'll be sponsoring a TWIN HARBOR LOCAL AUTHORS BOOK FAIR this spring (probably April 15) and we're now planning. Interested authors should contact us.

Summer WRITER'S SAIL on the Lady Washington. Probably in July. Avast! Keep yer watch out.

All that and Greg has Beyond Insanity (a book of personal essays, poems and pictures) coming out February 14, and Ruth and and Greg (editors) hope to publish Another Load of Chicken Poop on My Sole this spring. We're now taking submissions of humorous and/or inspirational short stories about farm life or country living.
